Estepa (Seville), June 25, 2021. The Estepa Denomination of Origin inaugurates next Wednesday June 30 the VIII edition of the “José Humanes” Chair of Oliviculture, which this time will feature two conferences that will address highly relevant topics for olive growers.
In this VIII edition the conferences will be the following:
● “The importance of compost”, a conference given by Concepción García, Principal Specialist Technician of IFAPA and Roberto García, Professor of Ecology at the University of Jaén, who on June 30 at 11:00 am at the San José de Lora de Estepa will present to the attendees the results of the latest studies on the application of compost in the olive grove, in addition to making recommendations on the best techniques for its use in cultivation.
● “Vegetable cover in the olive grove”, a conference given by Mª Auxiliadora Soriano Jiménez, Professor at the University of Córdoba and Ana Sánchez Montero, CSIC Researcher from Córdoba, which on July 8 at 11:00 am at the cooperative Ntra. Ms. de la Fuensanta de Corcoya will delve into the benefits of a growing system that is increasingly widespread in the territory protected by the Estepa Designation of Origin.
The Estepa Denomination of Origin has enabled a website with information on both conferences and where all people who wish to attend can register, since capacity is limited due to the COVID protocol that will govern both days.
