Hellenic Agricultural Organization “DEMETER” (ELGO):
ELGO is the national center for research, training and certification in agriculture and is supervised by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. The Institute of Olive Tree, Subtropical Crops and Viticulture, which belongs to ELGO, has expertise on several topics including cultural practices related to olive cultivation (irrigation, fertilization, pruning, orchard management, etc.), physiological response of olive tree to abiotic and biotic factors, etc. ELGO will coordinate the Greek producer associations.
Dr Vasileios Stournaras, researcher at the Institute of Olive Tree, Subtropical Crops and Viticulture (Department of Olive and Horticultural Crops in Kalamata). His research field is in Olive Cultivation and Olive Oil Quality. He is a member of Hellenic Society for Horticultural Science and has 15 publications including papers, conference proceedings and theses.
